
Founder and president
Born and raised in a small town in Western Pennsylvania, Randy Kerr learned early that hard work is a necessity and dedication is the key to success. Now based in Wake Forest, North Carolina, Randy is a proud husband and father of five who thrives in a fast-paced environment filled with what he calls “organized chaos.”
At 17, eager to gain both education and life experience, Randy enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Over the next six years, he trained at multiple military bases across the Eastern U.S. and Oklahoma. Following the events of 9/11, he served on active duty in Europe, all while earning a degree in Avionics from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics.
In 2006, Randy relocated to North Carolina and began building a career in the construction industry. Over the next decade, he held various roles across the sector, eventually becoming a Construction Manager with a national production builder. During this time, he recognized a growing gap in the local market caused by rapidly evolving building codes; a realization that led to the founding of Granite Construction Services, LLC (GCS Utilities) in 2018.
Since then, Randy has expanded his entrepreneurial footprint into several industries; including service, real estate, retail, sports and leisure, and professional consulting. His passion for entrepreneurship and operational excellence inspired the launch of Stay Broke Business Consulting, LLC, where he now focuses on helping other small business owners streamline operations, build sustainable growth strategies, and achieve long-term success.

vp of finance and operations
Native to North Carolina, Jenn joined GCS in October 2019 as Office Manager. She transitioned into her new position as VP of Finance & Operations in 2023. She has a Bachelor’s in Accounting, holding a variety of positions over the last 30 years in the construction, manufacturing, and bio-med industries. These include Controller of Finance, Risk Manager, and Compliance Manager. She was Chapter President with RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society) for three years.
Originally from Stem, NC (a small town in Granville County) Jenn has resided in the Triangle area the last 15 years. She enjoys spending time camping with her husband Willie and two sons Drake and Cory. She also takes pleasure in being called a “Granny”. Jenn has volunteered with her local church and community outreach projects.

Office Manager
Born and raised in Southwest Michigan, Kyle worked alongside his father and brother in the marine industry for over 10 years. In 2015 he began working in maintenance and property management, working in various states throughout the country. Kyle joined GCS in 2023 as the Field Operations Manager.
Kyle married his wife, Summer, in 2012. Together they have two children, Romy and Sage. They moved to North Carolina in 2017 and enjoy spending the day at the beach in their free time.

Media and Marketing
Travis Carney was raised in Teachey, North Carolina with a passion for storytelling and has built a 15 year career as a videographer, editor, writer, and general film professional. From an early age, Travis was drawn to the power of media, eventually earning a Bachelor’s in Journalism & Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Production from North Carolina A&T State University in 2010.
Travis began his career capturing visuals for local businesses in Raleigh and soon became a sought after creative throughout North Carolina. He’s filmed music videos for rising artists, produced commercials, documented weddings, and captured live events.
Driven by vision and grounded in discipline, Travis combines technical expertise with a storyteller’s heart delivering visuals that not only look good but feel real. Whether it’s behind the camera or in the editing suite, Travis brings a cinematic edge to every project he touches.
